Every day we are exposed to free radicals. Stress, pollution, toxins and of course, sunlight, just to name a few, are the root of skin damage and aging. This free radical cascade prevents our skin cells from functioning properly and causes our skin to deteriorate. Antioxidants, like vitamins A and E, white tea extract and horse chestnut extract, are the most natural defense by neutralizing and restoring free radicals and protection from further damage.
The HydraFacial MD™ removes surface damage (dead skin cells and impurities) and bathes the skin with solutions filled with antioxidants, peptides and Hyaluronic Acid through the most advanced application, Vortex-Fusion™ technology.
How does the HydraFacial MD™ work?
The unique spiral design of the HydroPeel™ tips creates a vortex affect which easily dislodges and removes dirt, oil and other impurities while bathing the skin in hydrating and antioxidant filled solutions. The HydraFacial MD™ simultaneously exfoliates, extracts, cleanses and hydrates the skin. Treatments are designed to treat all skin types and are customized for your individual wants and needs. This custom treatment is fast and efficient taking as little as 20-30 minutes with no discomfort and little downtime.
Are there side effects and is it painful?
Most patients find the HydraFacial MD™ to be very calming and relaxing and compare the feeling to that of a cat’s tongue or a wet paint brush. The GlySal™ Acid can cause some tingling or a mild burning sensation. There are little if any side effects to the HydraFacial MD™ Treatment. More aggressive treatments can cause some erythema (redness) which resolves quickly.
How often should treatments be repeated?
We are exposed to cascade of free radicals on a daily basis which can affect how heathy our skin remains. For patient with acne or in need of hydration, a series of weekly or bi-weekly treatments may be needed to help correct environmental damages followed by monthly maintenance treatments. For patients with normal skin, I recommend monthly to bi-monthly treatments to help maintain healthy skin and battle free radicals.
