BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular and safe treatment for lines and wrinkles, particularly on the forehead and between the eyebrows. By injecting tiny amounts of BOTOX® Cosmetic into the treatment area, Dr. McMahan can block the nerve impulses that cause tension in these areas. In addition to giving you a more youthful appearance, BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be an effective treatment for migraines, facial spasms, and eye twitches.
JUVÉDERM®
JUVÉDERM® is a highly effective dermal filler. By injecting small amounts of this hyaluronic acid-based gel under your skin, Dr. McMahan can boost your facial volume and fill in creases around your mouth and nose, particularly the nasolabial folds. The gel also contains lidocaine, meaning the injections will cause minimal discomfort. JUVÉDERM® is created with HYLACROSS™ technology, meaning your smooth, natural results could last up to one year without the need for touchups.
Restylane®
Similar to JUVÉDERM®, Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that is also an effective treatment for lines around the mouth and nose. However, Restylane® does not spread throughout your skin as much as JUVÉDERM®, and for the right patients, it may be a better treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. Keep in mind, this filler is not the most effective treatment for increasing facial volume or for filling in deep creases.
VOLUMA™
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ is an innovative new product that offers instant cheek augmentation with no need for implants and surgery. The hyaluronic acid-based gel increases facial volume, and the results of your VOLUMA™ injections can last up to two years. This treatment is typically suitable for patients in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who want to achieve a more youthful appearance without undergoing extensive cosmetic surgery.
Dysport®
Dysport® is the second neurotoxin approved by the FDA for treatment of facial dynamic lines and wrinkles. Like Botox®, Dysport® is injected into the offending muscles to cause temporary paralysis or weakness so that the overlying creases are reduced or eliminated for three to four months on the average.
Xeomin®
Xeomin® (pronounced ZEE-oh-min) is the newest FDA-approved neurotoxin in The United States having been available in Europe since 2005. It is virtually identical to Botox® but lacks the unnecessary accessory proteins which can result in allergic reactions or antibody production. Like Botox® and Dysport®, the duration of action for Xeomin® is three to four months.
