Mommy Makeover Candidates Columbus OH
Whether or not all of your procedures with a mommy makeover can be done at the same time or need to be separated into more than one surgery depends on your health, what procedures you are having done, how much needs to be done and how long it will take.
Overall Health
As long as you are healthy with no significant medical problems, you can safely have two or three procedures done at the same time. This not only saves time and money, you also only have to go through one recovery period. If you are older and have some medical issues, it may be safer to separate procedures, depending on what is going to be done. It is unwise to hide any medical conditions from your surgeon in an effort to convince him or her to allow you to have multiple simultaneous procedures.
Common Combinations
Probably the most common combination in the form of a mommy makeover is a tummy tuck with a breast lift (mastopexy). The tummy tuck can be a mini or even a circumferential procedure in the form of a lower body lift and the breast lift can be a full lift without implants or a small mastopexy that includes breast implants at the same time.
Liposuction
Liposuction is another common procedure performed during a mommy makeover. The most common areas treated are the inner and outer thighs, hips, abdomen, flanks, upper arms and neck. Liposuction can be combined with a tummy tuck, breast lift and breast implants depending on the extent of each procedure. Liposuction is used as an adjunctive procedure during many body contouring and facial aesthetic surgeries. The lateral tail of the breast is often liposuctioned with a breast lift or breast reduction and fat suctioning is frequently performed on the trunk during various abdominoplasty procedures.
Facial Aesthetics
It is also not unusual to perform facial cosmetic procedures during a mommy makeover. Eyelid surgery is often combined with body contouring procedures at the same time. Cosmetic nasal surgery is also a frequent request during a mommy makeover and can be done at the same time as almost any other surgery. Here too, liposuction is often a common co-procedure during facial aesthetic surgery. It is frequently performed on the jowls and neck during facelifts and mini-facelifts.
Extremity Procedures
The most frequently performed extremity surgery done at the time of a mommy makeover is liposuction on the inner and outer thighs, often with treatment of the inner knee area. Arm lifts (brachioplasty) and thigh lifts (thighplasty) are common procedures performed on massive weight loss patients and can be part of a mommy makeover if the patient has lost a significant amount of weight after pregnancy. Trying to perform both a thigh lift and an arm lift at the same time as a tummy tuck and breast surgery may well be too much at the same time and, therefore, may need to be delayed and performed as separate procedures.
